Job Description

Seeking a full-time Environmental Analyst to support our underground storage tanks (UST) program and serve as a Technical Assistance Specialist for our Wastewater & Onsite Programs Division.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate, prepare, and deliver courses pertinent to USTs, site remediation, and cleanup funding.
  • Develop self-paced courses, training videos, in-person events, and other educational projects that support the work of states, Tribes, and federal agencies across the country.
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance for wastewater utilities. Coordinate internal team meetings, supervise part-time Technical Assistance Providers, and track assistance activities and spending on travel and supplies.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A NEIWPCC Member State (ME, VT, RI, MA, CT, NY or NH) Wastewater Operator’s Certification (Class I or higher) or be capable of earning that certification within the first eighteen months of employment. 
  • Experience with UST operations, leaking UST cleanup, funding and policy, as well as in municipal wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance, with particular emphasis on process control, unit operations, maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Previous experience providing training and developing training materials.

Logistics
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Lowell, MA. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting with a need for travel, for which a valid driver’s license and private means of transportation are required. Evening work may be required. Position may require occasional site visits to industrial facility settings and roadside locations, requiring the use of protective wear and adherence to safety policy. After six months of employment, this position may be eligible for a partial telework schedule, subject to approval and determined by program and office needs.

What We Offer
