Environmental Analyst

NEIWPCC is seeking a detail-oriented environmental analyst to assist in facilitating research, implementation, and planning of projects that address water quality and ecosystem challenges in the Lake Champlain Basin. Specific subject areas include nutrient reduction, flood resilience, water quality, aquatic invasive species, native species habitat, aquatic organism passage, stormwater management issues, environmental engagement, and cultural interpretation. 

Job Duties: 

• Support all aspects of grant management workflow: preparing Requests for Proposals, supporting grant application review, assisting with workplan and budget development, reviewing grant deliverables, tracking progress, communicating with applicants and grant recipients, and facilitating the final review of projects.
• Support the Clean Water team with office and meeting support, assist technical staff with field work, and collaborate with colleagues in other office locations to ensure timely project activities. 
• Prepare technical data, analyses and reporting related to technical research, quarterly reporting, workshop presentations, and for use on our digital communications channels.
• Review Quality Assurance Project Plans that ensure high-quality environmental data.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, natural science, resource management, or related field, with coursework or passionate interest in Lake Champlain or relevant watershed issues.
• Three years of related technical or professional experience.
• Experience working with or managing grants.
• Strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain accurate records and excellent grammatical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• A proven team player with the ability to build collaborative relationships with partners.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly word processing, data management, and data analysis.

What We Offer
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. NEIWPCC offers an outstanding comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

Position Logistics
This full-time NEIWPCC position will work 8 hours per day and is based out of NEIWPCC’s Lake Champlain Programs office in Grand Isle, VT. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting, but may include outdoor field assignments, and will require travel to locations in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and Quebec, for which a private means of transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a valid passport or enhanced license is required. After six months of employment, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule for in-office duties, subject to approval and program needs.
