Key Objectives

  • Provide courteous and professional service to all customers at the post office counter.
  • Process mail, packages, and financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming counter area to enhance the customer experience.
  • Support overall post office operations by adhering to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and assist with mailing, shipping, and retail inquiries.
  • Weigh, price, and accept letters, parcels, and packages for mailing and shipping services.
  • Handle money orders, postal savings, and other financial transactions with accuracy.
  • Provide information on postal products, services, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with security and safety policies in handling mail and money.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking of postal supplies and retail items.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred, ideally in a retail or postal environment.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with postal regulations and services is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems or similar technology.
