Position Overview: The Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) staff position is responsible for supporting all Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) youth program activities from office and field locations. Primary duties include the daily management of the youth program, coordinating logistics, school visits and recruitment events, and leading training during the Leadership Development Program (LDP). This position will split time between administrative, logistical and field support duties, including training Youth Program Leaders, coordinating with project partners and then shifting to field-based support in the summer months. Field-based work includes: providing technical guidance as necessary and ensuring compliance with MCC policies and procedures. Join the efforts of NEIWPCC and the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) to prevent the spread of harmful and destructive invasive species, working to ensure a healthy and clean environment for wildlife and recreationalists. We’re seeking multiple seasonal boat launch stewards to deliver interpretive invasive species spread prevention messages to boaters on Lake Champlain during the summer of 2026 and to inspect and decontaminate watercraft. As a boat launch steward, you will be trained to: •    Greet visitors to Lake Champlain and share aquatic invasive species information. •    Record lake-user information on mobile tablets. •    Collect and identify aquatic organisms. •    Inspect watercraft, trailers, and recreational equipment for aquatic organisms. •    Conduct hot water high pressure decontaminations as needed. Experience required: none   Description : The Toucan Ridge Bird Observatory, located at the T.R.E.E.S Research Center in the Maya Mountains of Belize, currently has 4 apprenticeship spots open for our Fall 2024 Bird Banding Apprenticeship Program. This internship focuses primarily on how to set-up mist-nets, extract passerine birds from mist-nets, learn proper bird banding techniques, learn how to I.D., age and sex tropical resident birds as well as Neotropical migrants, learn proper data entry, and more.   Interns will also learn how to conduct bird transect surveys, point counts, nest searching, and other wildlife sampling techniques.
