Vanderbilt University's Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) team is seeking an experienced Air Quality Program Manager to lead a comprehensive environmental compliance program supporting one of the nation's premier research universities.
This is much more than a traditional air permitting position. As Vanderbilt continues to expand beyond Nashville, this role will help shape environmental compliance strategies supporting a growing national campus footprint, including locations in New York City, West Palm Beach, and San Francisco. You'll have the opportunity to influence programs that support world-class innovation, higher education, and institutional growth.
What You'll Do
As Vanderbilt's air quality subject matter expert, you'll lead and continuously improve programs involving:
• Title V air permitting and regulatory compliance
• Central utility plant and power generation emissions
• Asbestos management and contractor oversight
• Refrigerant management and regulatory compliance
• Greenhouse gas reporting and applicable environmental regulations
• Environmental risk management and strategic initiatives
You'll collaborate with university leadership, facilities professionals, researchers, sustainability partners, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance while helping build innovative, efficient environmental programs for the future.

We're Looking For an experienced environmental professional with expertise in air quality, Title V, asbestos, and/or greenhouse gas compliance and management. Individuals with advanced degrees and professional certifications such as CHMM, PE, CIH, CSP, Asbestos Inspector are preferred. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days each week on main campus in Nashville, TN. Very competitive salary and sign-on bonus provided.
