Air Pollution Control District

The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is the local regulatory agency responsible for protecting the public's health from the adverse impacts of air pollution.  The District is a government agency that regulates sources of air pollution within San Diego County.  This is accomplished through integrated monitoring, planning, engineering, and compliance activity that focuses on achieving and maintaining air quality standards.  Each of the District's divisions plays a key role in protecting the public from the adverse impacts of polluted air.
