REMSA's Coastal & Marine Division's primary goal is to facilitate marine related activity while supporting national, state and local conservation efforts. REMSA Inc. has been in business since 1986, our Marine Endangered Species Observer Program (MESO) was established in 1999 as a service to dredge companies to provide government approved observers in support of hopper dredge and other offshore operations. MESOs work closely with dredging contractors to help eliminate unnecessary impact on protected species to achieve a successful balance between environmental requirements and dredging needs. REMSA’s MESO program has evolved rapidly, we have expanded our program to provide protected species monitoring and conservation services for all marine species impacted by any marine related activity. Observers are independent contractors that are skilled at monitoring sea turtles, marine mammals, sturgeon and birds.
