The Maria Mitchell Association is a non-profit science education and research center based on the legacy of Maria Mitchell, a 19th century astronomer and educator. Areas of focus include ecology, marine biology, astronomy, and historic preservation. MMA offers a summer Discovery camp for children, year-round outreach programs for families, children and adults, and has an aquarium, natural science museum, two astronomical observatories, and the birthplace of Maria Mitchell, the Mitchell Family House.
