The Chincoteague Bay Field Station is seeking an individual with strong organizational and leadership skills to work with our University & Research (U&R) team during the summer. The Field Station offers 12 weeks of marine science-related college courses and is seeking a Summer Assistant to work in both field, office, and residential settings. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining field station aquaria, leading kayaking and boat trips for college classes, and completing various other physical and administrative tasks to meet program goals. The Summer Assistant position also shares the responsibility with the U&R Interns of overseeing the college community in residential aspects. U&R Interns will be immersed in the U&R program staff's daily activities, including all aspects of the summer U&R program, such as equipment and lab maintenance, assisting U&R staff with field excursions, and leading and supporting the college community. Interns will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and reporting an original, relevant research project. The duties of U&R Interns are split into three categories: Research , Program Maintenance , and Residential .

The Content and Social Engagement Intern will be immersed in U&R programming, assisting U&R staff with field excursions to collect marketing content, and leading and supporting the college community. They will also have the opportunity to support other CBFS programming, such as summer camps. The Content and Social Engagement Intern will be responsible for planning and executing college activities and events throughout the summer with assistance from other U&R staff. Interns will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and reporting on an original, relevant media project such as a newsletter, hype video, or other relevant marketing product. The duties of the Content and Social Engagement Intern are split into three categories: Content Collection and Distribution , Program Maintenance , and Residential .
