Join Columbia Riverkeeper’s exceptional team of activists in our fight to protect the Columbia River from the fossil fuel industry and other threats. Location:   Portland, OR Job Type:   Part-time Employee; Non Exempt position. Position Description:   Columbia Riverkeeper seeks part-time (26 hours per week) door-to-door grassroots canvasser based out of our SE Portland office. Canvass shifts are Monday through Thursday between 3:00 to 9:30 p.m. Required experience and qualifications: Strong verbal communication skills; A friendly, confident, and outgoing personality; Ability to walk four to five hours at a time outdoors in the evenings, on your own, in all types of weather; Possess a healthy sense of humor and an enthusiastic and optimistic attitude; Passion for protecting the environment. Experienced canvassers with a proven track record of successful fundraising preferred, but  will consider applicants with strong communication skills and knowledge of Columbia River issues, especially pertaining to fossil fuel projects. Salary & Benefits:   Base pay is $100 per day, plus incentive pay. Our canvassers earn an average of $18 - $20/hour. Paid sick leave. Paid vacation based on seniority and fundraising results.
