The National Forest Foundation was created by Congress in 1992 to be the official 501(c)(3) non-profit partner of the United States Forest Service. Its mission is to engage Americans in community-based and national programs that promote the health and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acre National Forest System.
Working on behalf of the American public, the NFF works to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests, the centerpiece of America’s public lands by leading forest conservation efforts and promoting responsible recreation. NFF believes these lands, and all they provide, are an American treasure and are vital to the health of our communities.
