The McKenzie Watershed Council was formed to help address watershed management issues in the McKenzie River watershed, as well as provide a framework for voluntary coordination and cooperation among key interests in developing and implementing a watershed action program. A primary purpose of the council is to work collaboratively with communities and landowners to develop and carry out voluntary watershed protection, restoration, enhancement, education, and community engagement activities. The McKenzie Watershed Alliance is a 501c3 organization formed in 2005 to serve as the fiscal sponsor of the Council. The Alliance is the employer of record and serves to carry out the mission of the McKenzie Watershed Council.
