Developed by the legendary Jean-Michel Cousteau, Ambassadors of the Environment uses family-friendly activities to introduce guests to the natural wonders and cultural traditions of the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman becomes a living classroom where adults and kids learn about responsible living and respect for nature. Adventures begin in the Heritage House, a traditional island cottage with cultural exhibits.
Oversees the daily operations of the AOTE Heritage House and responsible for supervision of coordinators, their personal development and evaluations, in addition to overall supervision of staff. Oversees all group business, including drafting proposals, maintaining positive relationships with Meetings & Special Events Managers and outside meeting planners. Coordinates staff for group events and implements group programs, also will be responsible for the ongoing development, expansion and maintenance of the department. Will be responsible for supervising program counselors in activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, art, crafts and outdoor adventure. Qualified candidates will have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology or Environmental Science and will have experience working with children from ages 4 years up to adult
· Desire to work with both adults and children and show them the wonders of the Cayman Islands
· Experience working at least one season in an Ambassadors of the Environment program
· Experience with operational team leadership
· Excellent presentation skills
· Knowledge and comfort with computer software including Concierge Assistant, Opera, Micros and all Microsoft Office applications
· Must be a strong swimmer and snorkeler, preferably with CPR/first aid and lifeguard skills
· Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekend and holidays
· Able to energize the Ritz-Carlton culture and mission of Ambassadors of the Environment
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; second language a plus.
