This position will provide city leaders with critical insights and recommendations regarding the full spectrum of science, technology, and infrastructure programs related to climate, to more effectively align our efforts to help meet the administration’s goals for addressing climate change.
Coordinates with the mayor’s office and city departments regarding community partnerships and relationships related to the city’s strategic initiatives on climate. Serves as community partnership manager with businesses, organizations, governmental agencies, universities and research entities, and other organizations focused on climate to expedite Boise’s actions towards mitigation and adaption to the impacts of climate change. Engages with the community, a team of strategic initiative managers, and department team members to support the city’s climate goals. Works with stakeholders on the development of new approaches to expand and expedite climate solutions. Coordinates with city staff on identifying and pursuing federal and state funding and policy opportunities related to climate change and natural resource management. Work is performed under general policy direction with wide latitude to achieve objectives.
