st meeting January 4, 1946. This year, 2016, will be the District's 72nd year of service in the counties of Accomack and Northampton on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We are a political subdivision responsible under state law for conservation activities in both Accomack and Northampton Counties. The District develops programs for wise use of our soil and natural resources, provides educational programs, comprehensive conservation planning for landowners, and administration of incentive programs for best management practices for agriculture.
