Job Description The   Environmental Summer Student   performs sampling, monitoring, auditing, and reporting duties to support  the Environmental department and supports the  Environmental Team to achieve their goals and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  This position is a temporary four-month term position scheduled to end August 31, 2018.  This position operates within a COR, ISO 17025 certified, and OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 conforming plant environment and is expected to comply with all regulatory requirements.  The facility operates on a 24/7 basis. Required Skills Understanding of sampling procedures and practices. Some mechanical aptitude is needed in order to troubleshoot problems with samplers. Intermediate level computer skills to operate MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and Word). Skilled in data interpretation and report writing. Working knowledge of plant processes including Bailey, ICIS and Active Factory. Working knowledge of laboratory preparation of any environmental samples. Effective customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results. Effective interpersonal and conflict management skills to facilitate working effectively with wide range and number of people, including peers and manager, employees, and other departments, divisions, and management within all levels of the organization. Effective negotiation, persuasion, and listening skills to facilitate successful resolution of employee and management  concerns and requests. Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate and promote open discussions and understanding Effective time management, decision-making, and planning and organizing skills. Attentiveness to details and ability to manage a diverse workload within a fast-paced environment with changing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision. Proven organizational and creative-problem solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality to comply with all regulatory requirements and Company Privacy and Confidentiality policies and procedures. Job Description The Regional EHSS Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of EHSS programs to ensure the safety, health, and security of employees, visitors, and contractors, protect the environment and maintain compliance with all EHSS regulations for multiple divisions. Directs EHSS Managers and staff ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Local regulations and Company EHS & Security requirements. Works with Business Unit management, site leaders, HR Management and others to ensure sustainable EHSS performance. Implements EHSS standards, provides technical assistance on issues and partners with the business on compliance, project management and EHSS management issues. Develops predictive risk analysis program to identify critical risk and provides preventative actions to mitigate potential risk. Deploys safety, security, industrial hygiene, and environmental processes which demonstrate continuous improvement in EHSS stewardship directed toward preventing accidents, eliminating safety and security hazards and minimizing environmental impacts. Leads the development of an organization that delivers EHSS excellence and compliance programs and standards through the program defining, training, and implementation stages, ensuring that all functions own and have the tools required to implement.  Implement corporate initiatives at the division and project level. Ensures contractors are qualified for onsite work, follow OSHA, EPA and Suez EHS regulations and requirements, and provides oversight of work activities. Conducts regular reviews of facilities identifying unsafe conditions and hazards, works with management to resolve issues. Directs security integration for divisions, interface with local emergency response organizations, and interacts with Federal agencies as required. Chair for Safety Subcommittee teams and strive to improve the HS culture of all facilities. Works with EHS Training Manager to identify required and requested courses and ensures training plan is communicated and implemented as planned. Is the Divisional lead for Intelex (EHS Event Reporting) and ensures events are processed in a timely manner meeting Suez time constraints. Provides review and feedback on proposed projects along with due diligence of acquisitions. Divisional lead for inspections, audits, and site reviews with regulatory and security agencies at the local state and federal level.      Serve as the Divisional contact for the Environmental Compliance Assurance Program (ECAP).  The role will require working with corporate, legal, financial, engineering , and operations management teams to accelerate and improve the effectiveness of our EHSS activities and ensure that events are reported in a timely and responsible manner. Manage investigations of all incidents ensuring root cause analysis are completed along with capturing and sharing lessons learned from the events.  Ensures Workers Comp process is adequately and timely managed providing all requested information within Suez guidelines. Partners with HR on accident investigations ensuring consistent application of findings.  Required Skills Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization with diplomacy Effective soft skills in communicating effectively with all levels of management and employees Working knowledge of federal environmental (EPA), health and safety (OSHA), and security (DHS) and corresponding State regulations. Working knowledge of wastewater and water treatment/collection/distribution would be an advantage or will have to be learned within a short time-frame after employment, similar experience in laboratory testing would be of value. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership, communication, technical and presentation skills required Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Skype for Business, etc) Effective in Influencing change across functional and demographic boundaries Ability to delegate and manage multiple responsibilities effectively Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement activities and programs leveraging processes, tools, and best practices Demonstrated experience in managing cultural change across an organization utilizing multiple approaches to help employees adopt and implement sustained change Budget, cost management, strategic planning and leadership experience Related post education training, certifications such as CSP, CIH, CPEA, or CHMM preferred Previous experience with security regulations and systems  Required Experience 5 or more years’ experience in EHSS compliance.
