DESCRIPTION The Senior Engineer role will contribute to the development of the firm’s Water Business Sector. Previous project experience with Water System Planning/Hydraulic Modeling is required. Candidates with a desire to develop their career toward a project manager role with expanded client duties and professional responsibilities are ideal. This position may require out-of-office travel with occasional evening and overnight assignments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS Performing, overseeing, and/or reviewing water system master planning evaluations. Performing, overseeing, and/or reviewing water distribution system hydraulic evaluations. utilizing a variety of commercial hydraulic modeling software programs (e.g., InfoWater). Evaluating water supply, water use, population, water quality, and facilities condition data. Preparing and/or managing the preparation of technical reports and master plans. Serving as task manager and/or project manager, maintaining task/project budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior-level staff. Interacting directly with clients and providing excellent client service. Assisting with marketing activities, including market evaluation and strategy, pre-marketing activities, and proposal development. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Experience with Water System Planning/Hydraulic Modeling 7-12 years’ experience of applied knowledge in water/wastewater planning projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with CAD, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWater). Proficient hydraulic modeler for water distribution systems. Candidate should have the ability to perform QAQC on hydraulic models prepared by others. Project and staff management experience are essential. Well-developed client interaction skills and business development experience. PE licensure in the State of California. PE licensure in other states in which the firm is actively practicing may also be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Must effectively communicate with all project team members. Proven ability to summarize technical information using appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling for concise reader-friendliness and clarity. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Maintaining professional competency may require attending education classes and seminars, reading professional publications, and attending professional society meetings.
