Nature of Work The purpose of this job is to provide professional level administrative support services to a department head or other administrative position. Manages assigned projects. Work as staff liaison to the various departmental divisions and programs and outside agencies; may act as staff liaison with the media. In some instances, this position will have supervisory responsibility. The Energy, Climate and Performance Management position will report to the Sustainability and Performance Management Officer in the Executive Office and support a variety of job duties. In general, this position will spend 60% of the time on energy and climate work and 40% on performance management. This position will be assigned projects within the scope of the categories listed below and may be assigned additional relevant tasks as needed. Energy and carbon performance tracking & analysis  Identify & implement carbon reduction strategies  Assess and oversee solar energy opportunities  Manage energy intern & oversee energy team  Support the creation and implementation of carbon reduction programs & policies for the community  Research & benchmark energy and carbon innovations and best practices  Provide support for performance management and administration of the City's recently adopted  strategic plan .
