Graduate Assistant/Fellowship
Delaware houses a leading wind power research program with emphasis on the burgeoning offshore market. Twelve-month stipends are approximately $28,000 for Ph.D. students and slightly less for Master’s students.  We are particularly interested in fellows whose research interests are in one of the following topics:  environmental risk assessment geological and geotechnical aspects of wind projects grid integration marine logistics, including deployment and installation remote sensing for offshore wind power site characterization socio-economic and cultural dimensions of wind power spatial planning wind meteorology, resource assessment and wind turbine wakes  Fellows will be advised by a faculty member whose principal appointment is in Marine Policy (MP), Physical Ocean Science and Engineering (POSE), Oceanography, Geography or Geological Sciences, depending on interest and research interest match.  Each fellow is required to be admitted to the master’s or PhD program in MP, POSE, Geological Sciences, Geography or Climatology (PhD only).   You must apply and be accepted as a graduate student to be eligible for the fellowship.  Interested prospective graduate students should visit here and see the attached which provides additional details.  If you intend to apply for the fellowship, you should notify, Sharon Weigner, swiegner@udel.edu , and Jeremy Firestone, jf@udel.edu .
