In 1983, Civicorps was founded as one of the first local conservation corps in California and is based on the California Conservation Corps model of land conservation work and formal education.  Civicorps’ mission is to re-engage young adults, age 18-26, to earn their high school diplomas, gain job skills, pursue college, and embark on family sustaining careers.

Civicorps Recycling is seeking Recycling Drivers for our pre-apprenticeship program. Civicorps Recycling offers truck driving training leading to a Class B license with a starting wage of $15.23 going up to $18.23. The Recycling Driver will work in Civicorps’ Recycling Social Enterprise which provides recycling collection services to small businesses, commercial operations and institutions in Oakland and other parts of the East Bay. The minimum requirements for entering the program are a HS Diploma or GED, a Class C driver’s license with a clean DMV record and the ability to pass drug testing.
