Description The Outbreak and Response Coordinator will administer surveillance, investigations, environmental assessments, control measures, and post response activities for the Food Protection Program (FPP) in collaboration with other agencies and jurisdictions. The incumbent will respond to reports of food-related illness, injury, outbreaks and hazards, whether unintentional or deliberate, and generates recommendations for foodborne illness (FBI) prevention. This position will coordinate response activity with and technical support to local Boards of Health (LBoH), and develops informational meetings for local officials, industry stakeholders and professional society representatives, state and federal officials, and other interested parties. The Outbreak and Response Coordinator will assist with the development, training and coordination of emergency response procedures and the environmental investigation of foodborne disease outbreaks, food/food establishment and consumer product complaints, food tampering and other naturally-occurring or man-made disasters including bioterrorism events affecting the safety of the food supply. He/she will be responsible for reporting on technical aspects of above topics to Director of the FPP, other DPH staff and/or staff of local, state or federal agencies; makes presentations at public health hearings and/or other public meetings. The individual will also assist with grant development and management, and prepares reports, studies and analytical data on environmental assessments and/or processes related to the above topics.  Remember to say you found this opportunity at EnvironmentalCareer.com
