The NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) is rolling out a city-wide Organics Curbside Collection program, collecting residential food scraps and yard waste to turn them into compost. Compost creates healthy soil, which nourishes plants. The program is also turning food scraps into clean, renewable energy. The project is funded and managed by the NYC Department of Sanitation's Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability. Learn more at nyc.gov/organics.
The NYC Organics Collection Outreach Associate position is based out of Big Reuse, contracted by DSNY to conduct program outreach, and is directly managed by the Senior Manager of Organics Outreach at DSNY.
