ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive, detail-oriented Outreach Coordinator to mentor and manage a team of outreach associates in our Portland-based courtesy call center. Reporting to the Senior Outreach Manager, the Call Center Outreach Coordinator maintains a thriving, efficient inbound and outbound call center to enroll customers in renewable energy and carbon offset programs through partnership with utilities in Oregon and around the nation. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for the environment and sustainability, a love of organization and creating clarity out of complexity, and a zeal for coaching team members toward great performance. This position is 30-40 hours per week, with benefits including medical, dental and vision, flexPTO, 401(k) with company matching program, and more. This role will be located in our Portland, OR office. Consideration for remote work is not available for this position. WHAT YOU’LL DO Mentor and manage a team of 5-10 part-time and full-time outreach staff in the Portland courtesy call center, hiring new members as needed Ensure the courtesy call center achieves enrollment goals and maintains extraordinary customer service, at both the individual and group level Provide sustainability program and call center software training to new and existing call center outreach associates Collaborate with management on staff development, training opportunities, and best practices Perform field assessments and monitor call recordings for all programs as outlined in partnership agreements Monitor and report on key performance indicators Create and/or update call scripts, job aids, and training materials Acquire and maintain a deep familiarity with renewable energy Accurately describe energy programs to customers, and ensure your team does too Lead by doing: perform inbound & outbound phone outreach & sales WHAT WE SEEK FROM YOU Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, and motivating a successful team Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a sales, outreach, political organizing, or community organizing role strongly preferred Experience working in call centers, phone banks, or other positions with significant phone-related work preferred Fluency in Google Apps / G Suite strongly preferred Dedication to sustainability and interest in renewable energy Strength at building rapport with strangers in conversation over the phone, and training staff to do the same Excellent organizational and follow-up skills Superb communication skills and influencing ability WHAT WE OFFER When you work for us, there's plenty in it for you: Competitive hourly wage plus performance-based commission & bonus structure. This leader supports the Vice President, Energy and Climate Practice in establishing the practice’s working processes and growth trajectory as a consulting organization inside a larger firm. The incumbent also leads ongoing engagements with our most important clients, including those they bring to 3Degrees. This position will be ideally located in our San Francisco or Portland offices. Consideration for Remote location will be provided on a candidate-by-candidate basis. WHAT YOU’LL DO This position has three core functions: Improve our consulting organization’s processes in how we manage our work within our team, the company, and with clients; Together with our marketing and business development teams, establish and implement plans (e.g. products, service lines, client types, etc.) which accelerate our growth trajectory; and Through reputation, contacts, and capability, increase our attractiveness to, and our ability to serve, our targeted client base. Examples of specific duties include: Create working processes which make our organization more efficient, enabling the team to spend more time with clients and less time negotiating resources, chasing down the latest template, or reviewing contract language. Solidify the business fundamentals we choose to use, to ensure we maximize our value within and across our organization (e.g. billing rates and philosophy, project size targets, utilization measurement, resource management, etc.); build upon our dashboards to ensure our KPIs are illuminating the right things; recommend course corrections as needed. Alongside our finance team, establish group budgeting and budget-tracking processes. Support the group VP in establishing and implementing company strategy as it cascades to the consulting team. Identify and secure new business through personal contacts, ongoing targeting and adjustment alongside Marketing and Business Development teams. Hire, mentor, and lead staff, including leading engagements for top-tier clients. Using your extensive domain expertise, lead large/complex consulting engagements. Act as Account Manager for clients which span 3Degrees’ functions. WHAT WE’LL NEED FROM YOU Deep domain expertise in energy and climate; a reputation for excellence in client service. Extensive experience and a passion for the business of consulting. Proven ability to grow a consulting business. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience making presentations to external clients, client stakeholders, prospects, internal stakeholders, and the public in arenas such as policymaking, industry forums, and legal proceedings; experience making and facilitating presentations to C-level leaders at client companies, elected officials and the media.
