Position Overview: Carrie Murray Nature Center is seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals to lead summer nature camps and weekend nature programming. Our Nature Camp Counselors coordinate and lead camps for children ages 4-13 years old, with most camps offered for 6-8 and 9-11-year-olds. Seasonal Nature Camp leaders ensure the safety and well-being of children and work as a team with fellow staff and volunteers. A positive, hard-working attitude is key, as is a fun-loving rapport with children. Genuine love of nature and spirit of outdoor adventures are also crucial to this role.  Additional naturalist duties may include leading weekend nature programs or field trips, support for group volunteer projects, and other outreach/special events at Carrie Murray Nature Center. Candidates with a strong interest in nature, environmental education, environmental sciences, outdoor education, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Lead summer nature camp and nature programs for children age 4-13 years old Facilitate a fun, safe learning experience within Gwynn Falls Park Organize and manager daily camp supplies and snacks Assist with animal care, trail, and garden maintenance Other related naturalist duties as needed Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to speak effectively Ability to stimulate the interest of children in natural history and natural science. Ability to adapt quickly Required Education and Experience: Minimum age of 18 years old Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate. Experience:  Two years of experience in recreational activities working with youth ages 4-13. Preferred:  Completion of two years of college (60 credits) and Pediatric First Aid/CPR from the American Red Cross. Experience working with children in an outdoors setting.
