If you answered “yes” to the questions above, we want you to join our team as a   Sustainability Analyst   at the Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development / Sustainability & Solid Waste Program. This is a unique opportunity as we are planning to fill   two (2) vacant positions   as a result of this recruitment process. We are seeking motivated individuals with strong communication and interpersonal skills. If you are selected for either one of the two positions, you will have an opportunity to assist in the implementation and promotion of sustainability, waste reduction, resource conservation and disaster preparedness programs and initiatives for Clackamas County, by providing and coordinating education, technical assistance, planning, and program delivery. If you are interested in working to promote businesses’ capacity to prevent or compost food waste, and support or build partnerships among non-profits and businesses to ensure more food is donated and reaches those in need, we have a position we want to consider you for! If you see yourself working to develop and coordinate sustainability and/or climate efforts in the County’s organizational operations, and to assist in building resilience and preparedness within the department and our garbage and recycling system, for example through further developing our plan for disaster debris, we have an opportunity for you! These positions are non-supervisory, journey level positions. Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:* At least one (1) year of experience in a sustainability, waste reduction and/or resource conservation field At least one (1) year of experience in coordinating and managing projects Experience conducting research, tracking data, and interpreting and generating reports Experience in creating and delivering presentations and/or providing training to groups Experience dealing effectively with customer service inquiries and complaints Experience working with and establishing new relationships with and within businesses or other organizations Experience developing informational and educational materials (e.g. posters, brochures, reports, and electronic newsletters) Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to clearly convey technical and procedural information to individuals at all levels of knowledge and understanding of the subject Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment. Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, resource conservation, waste reduction, policy analysis, public education, marketing, or a related field At least one (1) year of experience developing sustainability, waste reduction or resource conservation programs within or for one or more organizations, non-profits, schools, and/or businesses.
