Job Summary We are the International Environmental Initiatives Team within the Apple Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Team. Our team make sure that Apple's products and processes meet and surpass regional and national environmental regulatory requirements. In addition, we anticipate upcoming trends and help to formulate proactive approaches and establish environmental leadership programs. We support Apple's corporate environmental groups to deliver programs on among others, carbon footprint, material closing loops, elimination of hazardous substances, energy efficiency, product recycling, and take-back solutions. Our team is seeking for a dynamic and innovative individual with both strategic and operational thinking capabilities. You will need to have affinity to environmental policy, engage with policy-makers, monitor key environmental trends, engage with external partners and follow up with Apple internal cross-functional teams to further Apple’s environmental leadership. Your focus is to ensure recycling compliance in North America. Key Qualifications Strong background on recycling compliance in US Min. 10 years working experience in environmental area, good understanding of circular economy policy, experience on waste shipment and end of life device collection Proven track record of making a difference and driving environmental progress in complex organizations Self-starter with a proven ability to influence others and entrepreneurial mind set Experience interacting with interdisciplinary project teams Description - Monitor and assess circular economy trends and regulations related to waste management, waste shipment, reuse, take-back, and recycling of electronic equipment, batteries and packaging - Formulate recommendations, strategy and plan of action on how Apple could engage and respond accordingly - Support the implementation of Apple's Recycling Programs and compliance with Federal and State requirements - Administer submission of compliance reports - Ensure that environmental requirements are fulfilled at the earliest possible time - Engage with a large variety of Apple internal cross functional teams like sales, corporate communications, legal, governmental affairs, product marketing, environmental technologies, corporate recycling, and others - Develop and manage contact with industry associations and with environmental regulatory agencies Education - An Environmental related degree Apple is an Equal Opportunity Employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
