Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy

Established in 1974, the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy (MCEA) uses law, science, and research to protect Minnesota’s environment, its natural resources, and the health of its people.

For over 40 years, we’ve worked at the legislature, in the courts, and with public agencies to enact, strengthen, and enforce smart environmental laws. MCEA is the leading legal voice protecting Minnesota’s environment, with deep organizational expertise that includes some of the foremost environmental law and policy professionals in the state. We work on many different issues, especially water, land use & transportation, clean energy, natural resources, and mining.
