Suffolk (VA)

The City of Suffolk is blessed with an abundance of unaltered natural areas including the wetlands of the Great Dismal Swamp and the tidal wetlands along the banks of the Nansemond, Chuckatuck, Bennetts Creek and James Rivers. It is the responsibility of the comprehensive planning process to lay out the state of our natural resources and to develop policies and action statements to protect and preserve them, while balancing the needs of continued development.
