Summary This is an Excepted Service position in the DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM), EM Consolidated Business Center (CBC), Office of Chief Counsel (OCC). EM is responsible for the world’s largest cleanup program. EMCBC provides exemplary business and technical resources to the EM cleanup program. OCC provides attorney/paralegal services to resolve legal issues arising at the Business Center, client sites, Office of Legacy Management Field Site Locations. If selected for this position, you will serve as a subject matter expert within OCC in the area of Environmental law, counsel on these issues and determine the legal soundness, accuracy and protection for the legal, financial and other interests of EMCBC and DOE concerning these matters. 1 vacancy in the following locations: Simi Valley, CA Lexington, KY Los Alamos, NM Las Vegas, NV Cincinnati, OH Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As an Attorney Advisor, you will: Perform a wide variety of legal duties relative to environmental cases or legal issues of extreme difficulty having to balance conflicting interests. May act as the lead environmental counsel to a significant operating program or in an adversarial proceeding where legal questions are extremely complex. Represents EMCBC Chief Counsel in conferences involving matters of a legal nature. Prepare and/or review written opinions with respect to the legal implications in various areas of law with a focus on Federal and State statutory and regulatory environmental legal matters.
