Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Responsible for compliance with various Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) hazardous and toxic materials management programs. Identifies existing non-compliance issues and recommends solutions to bring the activity into compliance with environmental regulations. Responsible for managing the pollution prevention and materials recycling programs. Tracks and runs models to ensure diesel fleets meet CARB air emissions regulations and SF6 gas emissions remain under the CARB regulated emissions limits. Researches new hazardous waste and air regulations identifying methods to maintain compliance with new hazardous waste, CARB and local air districts requirements. Above duties are at the GS-11 level. For the lower grade level, incumbent will perform a wide range of tasks described in the above duties, but at a lower level of work designed to further develop and refine the knowledge and skills of the incumbent. Assignments will typically combine productive work with on-going training and instruction. Supervision received at the lower level will be closer with oversight and review being provided more frequently. Travel Required 25% or less - Overnight travel may be required 1-3 nights per month.
