Description Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is seeking an entry-level environmental scientist to join our Nashville, Tennessee office to assist our Project Managers with environmental planning projects as well as other transportation planning projects as needed.   Duties include: Assisting with the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, supporting agency coordination efforts, public involvement (preparation of materials and attendance at events), land use planning, preparation of maps and GIS analysis, and Census data collection. Responsibilities also include assisting with and maintaining our client relations, adherence to scope, schedule and project budgets, and upholding our quality control processes. Position Requirements •Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills •An understanding of NEPA, as well as other relevant state and federal environmental laws •Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Urban and Regional Planning   •All applicants must have demonstrated experience with the following software: ArcGIS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) •Some project related travel may be required Min. Description Kimley-Horn is looking for a biologist/environmental scientist with four or more years of experience to join our Lakeland, FL office. The qualified candidate must have a working knowledge of biological sciences, Florida ecosystems and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance. Ideal candidates would also have knowledge in one or more of the following: natural resource regulations, water quality regulatory programs, wetlands identification including knowledge of botany and soil science and experience in ecology, wildlife biology, water resources, geographic information systems and environmental science. Position Requirements • Have a BS or MS in Botany, Biology, Ecology, or comparable Natural Resources degree • Experience writing technical reports and NEPA documents • Strong technical writing skills   • Strong interpersonal skills • Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Ability to work independently and on a team • Flexibility to travel to other offices and cities for projects as needed • Valid driver's license required • Field work experience (wetland delineations, seagrass surveys, wildlife studies and/or environmental monitoring)   • GIS preferred Min.
