The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development seeks a full-time Visitor Services Coordinator to assist with the operation of the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center in Mount Tremper, NY. Position Description The Catskill Center seeks an individual for the position of Visitor Services Coordinator to assist the CIC Director in the operation of the CIC. This is an entry-level, full-time, benefited position based at the CIC in Mount Tremper, NY. This position offers substantial opportunities to learn new skills and gain experience while demonstrating competence in a pleasant, though busy work environment. The position requires regular interaction with the public, but also includes independent office work. In the busy summer/fall seasons, the focus of this position will be on the visitor experience—engaging directly with visitors, making sure that high standards for excellent service are maintained in the visitors center, and assisting with the execution of frequent events. At other times of the year, more hours will be devoted to working in the office on projects such as database creation and management, community outreach, volunteer recruitment and training, and the development of new education and event programs. Occasional travel to the Catskill Center’s main office in Arkville, NY and other locations within the Catskills and Hudson Valley regions will be required.
