The Audubon Society of Portland has just completed a five-year strategic plan. A core priority moving forward is to infuse equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) into all of the goals and work of the organization. The Wildlife Care Center Veterinarian will play an important role in achieving the organization’s EID goals through the delivery of high quality customer service and visitor engagement. Job Summary The Wildlife Care Center Veterinarian is responsible for the oversight of all animal medical care provided through the Wildlife Care Center including wildlife and resident educational animals. The Veterinarian will report to the Wildlife Care Center Manager and will work with the other veterinary and rehabilitation staff to develop individual animal care plans. They will work with the WCC Manager, the Directors of Education and Conservation as well as the Executive Director in building larger animal care policy and programs fitting with the organization’s education and conservation priorities. Job Purpose : The Education Program Assistant provides administrative support to the Education Department including supporting school program, outdoor school, and camp registrations and providing high quality customer service to parents, teachers, and community members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : ● Responsible for all school program, outdoor school, and camp registrations (summer, winter, spring) ● Provides exceptional and timely customer service to teachers, parents, and general public ● Responsible for online program registration system and education department webpage updates ● Invoices, collects, and maintains all youth program payments ● Creates revenue, attendance, development, and scholarship reports ● Assists with program logistics such as transportation, equipment, materials, and lodging ● Assists Youth Programs Manager with the evaluation and awarding of scholarships ● Coordinates with Education Director to strategically market education programs ● Supports the implementation of equity, inclusion, and diversity goals and strategies for the education department ● Other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications : ● Excellent oral and written communication skills ● Attention to details and strong organizational skills ● Strong commitment to environmental education ● Experience working towards equity, diversity and an inclusive culture within an organization ● Ability to work effectively as a team member ● Effective and efficient time management skills ● Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision ● Proficient in Microsoft Office suite ● Experience with website management and online registration software Remember to say you found this opportunity at EnvironmentalCareer.com
