The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking Climbing Arborists (Tree Trimmers) to join our Residential/ Commercial Tree Care team in Las Vegas, NV. We are searching for outdoorsmen & women interested in becoming Arborist Tree Climbers. This is an outdoor based, hands-on position. Those with prior experience in Forestry, Landscaping or working at height are encouraged to apply. Experience in related fields of work (concrete, construction, electrical, landscaping) or outdoor work experience (lawn care, yard care, mowing, gardener, weed control, maintenance) is desirable. DUTIES: Responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees on residential and commercial properties Assist Foreman in completing all aspects of Tree Pruning, Removal, Cabling & Bracing by working as both second climber and ground crew Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal, as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects Operate Chippers, Trucks, Aerial Lifts, stump grinders or special equipment Participate in job-site Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process Maintain issued climbing gear, chainsaw, and shared crew equipment as directed by Foreman Complete Davey Aerial Rescue Training Make satisfactory progress in Davey Career Development Program QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Valid Driver’s License required CDL Class B or ability to attain within 3 months preferred Ability to satisfactorily perform Tree Trimmer-Climber duties Under direct supervision ability to demonstrate proficiency: Climbing trees with closed or open climbing system Pruning to ANSI A300 standards Operating chippers and chainsaws Bucket truck experience preferred Equipment maintenance Safe working procedures Customer service Strong tree ID skills, installation experience of cables, bracing and lightening protection are preferred but not required High school diploma or equivalent preferred Completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire Pesticide license, if required by state law BENEFITS / WE OFFER: Full time hourly position (compensation based on qualifications and experience) Potential for overtime Generous performance incentive plan Excellent benefits offered Medical, Dental, Vision plans Paid time off vacation, Holiday Pay, Sick leave 401K retirement plan, the opportunity to buy Davey stock after 1 year Employee referral bonus program All climbing gear and PPE provided Industry related training and special Davey training courses Reimbursement is available for industry related certifications Internships and management mentoring programs available Work in and near world famous entertainment and all that Las Vegas has to offer Pre-employment Drug Screen and Social Security verification required.
