This intern will work alongside full-time staff to assess, protect, manage, and restore priority Hudson River Estuary habitats, including shorelines, tidal wetlands, and submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) beds. NORTHERN VIRGINIA REGION (LEESBURG, FAIRFAX, FREDERICKSBURG) SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA REGION (WILLIAMSBURG, NORFOLK, SUFFOLK) Job description • Conduct inspections at various project sites to ensure compliance with Standards and Specifications (Erosion & Sediment and Stormwater Management), as well as local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. • Provide coaching and guidance to on-site personnel regarding environmental compliance and stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) book documentation requirements. • Perform stormwater management inspections on operational facilities and evaluation of their best management practices (BMPs). • Dual certification (stormwater and erosion & sediment) or comparable experience required. • Day trips to sites ~4 days/week with home office time for reports and administrative tasks. • Safety training and PPE to be provided. • Computer and cell phone will be provided. • Personal vehicle...
