The Scientist would work with a small team of biologists, environmental planners, and engineers to design and execute aquatic habitat restoration projects, biological studies, environmental assessments, and other natural resources investigations. More About This Role:
Stream and River restoration;
Conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, wildlife habitat, and riverine features in the Pacific Northwest;
NEPA/SEPA analysis;
Performing wetland delineations;
Fisheries studies and fish monitoring;
ESA compliance analysis and Biological Assessment preparation;
Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401;
GIS mapping and data analysis
Assisting in business development for biological/environmental work.
Requirements:
BS in Biology/Water Resources Sciences and at least 3-5 years of professional experience, or MS in Biology/Water Resources Sciences and at least 1-3 years of professional experience in environmental science and project management including surveying, monitoring and permitting; water quality, delineation of wetlands, and restoration.
Knowledge of local plant, fish and/or wildlife species and their habitat requirements;
Experience developing mitigation/monitoring plans;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Experience preparing reports, NEPA and ESA documentation;
Experience with GIS and Excel;
Valid driver’s license.
