Job Description If you are a proven Front End Delivery Manager then this role is a chance for you shape the development one of the largest Offshore Wind leases situated off the east coast of the US. Providing value to the joint venture between Shell and EDFR whilst building an industry in US waters. Building a team and capability to mature the projects through the early opportunity and concept selection phases.  What’s the role? Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind Farm LLC is a joint venture between Shell and EDFR and holds the rights to a sea bed lease off the cost of New Jersey. This significant investment requires development and securing of competitive tenders that provide a route to market for the electricity generated. You will establish, lead and deliver the Atlantic Shores technical and project delivery strategy for the portfolio and individual projects, ensuring that HSSE is proactively managed over the full life of the asset and at the core of all activities. Your focus will be upon delivery by driving value-based decisions that balance economic, development and technical works to progress the projects in a competitive environment.  You will sit on the Management Team of the development and help shape not only the approach to Atlantic Shores but also how Shell brings our experience to the offshore wind sector to create a world class business case. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and your industry reputation. Requirements What we need from you  You will be comfortable in building a strategy and team for delivery, working on early phase developments. Understanding the how to identify and ensure value is delivered over all phases of the life cycle. You will have a project background and be experienced in complex offshore projects and the interaction between development permitting, commercial, engineering and delivery. You will bring teams together and ensure that communication is effective between the different teams.   You’ll need as many of the following as possible on your CV: Significant years' previous supervisory duties (at least 4 direct reports).  Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication, presentation skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple people from all types of fields of expertise. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple primes and subcontractor relationships simultaneously. Highly motivated, self-starter, ability to work well with others and be a good team player. Knowledge of risk evaluation and statistical modelling a plus. Expert knowledge of cost control philosophy and methodologies, estimating, change management, and document controls procedures required.  Experience with budgets, scheduling and RFP processes. About SFS: The School for Field Studies (SFS) creates transformative study abroad experiences through field-based learning and research. Our educational programs explore the human and ecological dimensions of the complex environmental problems faced by our local partners, contributing to sustainable solutions in the places where we live and work.   Position Summary:   The purpose of the Program Intern position is to provide support in the areas of program delivery, academics, research, group dynamics, logistics, program safety, risk management and site maintenance. Interns assist faculty with classroom work, field exercises, and various research projects. Interns also assist the Student Affairs Manager (SAM) in the planning and implementation of student group activities and operations. Location: Current openings for the Program Intern position are in the following SFS locations: Atenas, Costa Rica Program Schedule: August 26, 2019 to August 10, 2020   Reports to:   Center Director. TerraCorps   is an innovative national service program that prepares and mobilizes emerging leaders to help communities conserve and secure land for the health and well-being of people and nature. We do this by supporting AmeriCorps members who serve with nonprofit organizations across the state to tackle issues around land access, urban agriculture, and conservation. This year we are looking for 48 members to join the TerraCorps team! As a member you can serve with one of our nonprofit partners, in one of five coordinator positions: Community Engagement Coordinator, Youth Education Coordinator, Land Stewardship Coordinator, Regional Collaboration Coordinator, and Urban Agriculture Coordinator. Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC)   build the long-term capacity of their Service Sites by developing culturally inclusive systems, programming, partnerships, and events. By collaborating with community groups, CECs demonstrate how the sustainable use and conservation of land can help address community needs related to education, public health, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, homelessness, poverty, hunger, and cultural decline. By helping a broader cross-section of people experience the benefits of land, CECs build connections between the environment and people that increase public support for land access, revitalization, and conservation initiatives.  Members serve in full-time (38 hour/week), 11-month positions from August 26th, 2019- July 24th, 2020. These 1,700-hour AmeriCorps positions receive a living allowance and are eligible for an education award, and additional AmeriCorps benefits. About The Site The Gratiot Energy Center is a 110.4 MW wind power generation facility located in Breckenridge, MI utilizing GE 1.69-100 XLE turbine technology. Position Overview As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Buckeye Energy Center. Responsibilities Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment. Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods Required Skills One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet). Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds). As outlined in the job posting, there is a weight limitation of 265 lbs. per equipment specifications.  Therefore, you will be weighed before the climb test.  If your weight exceeds 265 lbs., you will not be able to complete the climb test. The Director of Legal Training and Development is a newly created position that will lead in the development, implementation, evaluation and continued improvement of onboarding, training and development programs for litigation staff across the organization.  In addition, the Director of Legal Training and Development will provide resources and guidance to regional offices and program teams to support their unique staff development and training needs.    The Director of Legal Training and Development will partner with HR, Lit Ops, program management and staff to identify and prioritize training needs, and develop a timeline for training and development that provides ongoing and progressive support and enrichment to every member of the litigation department. The incumbent will formulate policy and long and short range objectives in keeping with the organization’s priorities, growth, legal function and programs as well as trends in professional development and legal education.  The Director of Legal Training and Development will also serve as a key thought partner to the VP of Litigation Practice, collaborating often with HR, OGC and others, to ensure the litigation department’s training, development, and staff engagement efforts align with the organization’s strategic goals and core values and provides the tools necessary to effectively represent our clients and fight to advance the promise of a healthy world for all.   Responsibilities: Training, Development and Staff Engagement (80 %) Create and manage an overall strategy for the organization to meet its mission and help ensure the development and retention of highly skilled employees, supervisors and managers. Lead and develop robust onboarding, training and professional development programs for litigation staff across the organization, such as associate attorney training and mentorship program and supervisory training. Collaborate with program leadership, staff and other stakeholders to assess department-specific training and development needs and allocate resources, as needed, to accomplish priorities. Consult with supervisors and department leads to recommend customized training and professional development solutions.  Lead in the development of the 3-day biennial Litigation Training Conference attended by the entire Litigation Department from around the country. Facilitate the development of the agenda through collaboration with program leadership and event planning staff. Develop guidelines for evaluating results of training programs and make recommendations and adjustments based on statistics, and qualitative and quantitative data. Prepares oral or written status reports for VP, Litigation Practice to assess program effectiveness and forecast future needs. Establish partnerships with facilitators, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and learners to identify training and development needs and manage training vendors to ensure learner-centric solutions. Partner with managers to facilitate needs assessment and curate content based on individual and team talent goals. Identify, research, implement, maintain, and market professional development initiatives such as mentorship program, and formalized sharing of best practices. Design and deliver internal communications and guidance on various topics such as feedback, staff engagement, and sound management principles to support and model a culture of continuous learning. Lead in the development of a compendium of litigation department policies and procedures. Implement and manage content for periodic supervisor trainings to increase shared understanding of management priorities with a focus on employee engagement.
