Position Summary The Coordinator, Panhandle Shorebird Stewardship is responsible for implementing and managing  volunteer bird stewardship and public outreach and education year-round in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf and Franklin counties. The program involves growing volunteer bird stewardship at active nesting sites at target beaches and gravel rooftops, initiating public outreach and education programs, growing equity, diversity, and inclusion among staff and volunteers, and generating e-communications to further outreach and education objectives. JOB SUMMARY This is a responsible technical and administrative position within the Community Development Department.  This position is responsible for developing and coordinating plans and strategies for the City’s sustainability program, including a resiliency plan. Activities include coordinating with internal departments, public and private agencies to implement the plan, as well as education and stakeholder outreach.   The incumbent shall act as the city’s primary point of contact to internal and external stakeholders coordinating efforts regarding sustainability and resiliency. General planning duties are also included within the scope of work.
