We are currently looking for a mid- to senior-level Natural Resource Technical Specialist to join the ENERCON Team. The position will involve working from a home office. Preferred location is in Collier, Lee, or Brevard Counties, Florida. In this role, you will have the opportunity to join an established natural resources practice and perform wetland delineations, T/E habitat characterization, benthic resource assessments, land use mapping and vegetation cover classification, GPS data collection, GIS map creation, and permitting and report preparation for regulatory agencies such as USACE, United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), FDEP, and various other state and county agencies. The key responsibilities of the position include: Perform environmental assessments by conducting environmental field surveys, land use verification, protected species surveys, and tree canopy assessments at sites located throughout the state of Florida. Complete environmental permitting, including the acquisition of right-of-way permits from various agencies, regulatory strategy development, site feasibility assessments, and NPDES and permit compliance for a variety of utility-related projects Ensure successful performance and accuracy of documents prepared for environmental services in accordance with National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) guidelines as applicable. Succeed in working independently (with minimal supervision) and immediate tests of abilities and skills Develop and maintain environmental policy and procedures manuals for compliance assurance throughout the lifecycle of projects. Oversee the preparation of biological assessments for Section 7 ESA consultation requirements. As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a Natural Resources or related field Minimum 5+ years of natural resources experience required Experience with Florida ERP and USACE Section 404 Permitting Knowledge of Florida fauna and flora Experience with GIS applications including ArcMap and Trimble GPS data collectors The following certifications are preferred but not required: ISA Certified Arborist and NPDES/Florida Stormwater Management Inspector Certification. Ability to complete long field days, that may exceed 8 hours in length, in hot and humid conditions and in a variety of habitats including wetlands and open water. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within Florida but also throughout the southeast U.S. Duration of travel will vary depending on project and client needs, with a typical duration of less than one week. Providing field support following storm events, with little notice, is also required. Must have a consistent clear Motor Vehicle report/driving history Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) check according to company and client policies.
