Flexible scheduling, primarily during business hours (9am-6pm)
Housed in our Detroit office, located at 2727 Second Avenue, but during the pandemic, staff, volunteers and interns are working virtually from home.
Scope: The Sierra Club Michigan Environmental Justice and Political Assistant Organizer will focus on assisting Sierra Club national and Chapter staff based in Detroit in protecting the environment and public health through community education and organizing about EJ and political issues in Detroit and Wayne County. The assistant organizer will take on activities that assist Sierra Club in expanding its effectiveness in supporting communities facing environmental injustice, especially in Detroit, Ecorse, River Rouge, and Dearborn, and building a base for political and county power.
