Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable professional to support the financial management of our federally funded projects. This position will work closely with our project managers and bookkeeper to collect invoices, track project expenses, and prepare reimbursement requests for our funders.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in nonprofit financial management, an understanding of federal grant compliance, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys contributing to mission-driven work while maintaining flexibility in their schedule.

This is a part-time, contract position estimated at 20–40 hours per month for an initial six-month term, with the potential to extend if we’re a good fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support billing and invoicing for federal funders
  • Track and reconcile project expenses
  • Prepare and submit grant reimbursement requests
  • Maintain organized records to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal requirements
  • Support financial and administrative processes that help our team work efficiently

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in business administration, financial management, or grant administration (nonprofit experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and strong proficiency with Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with a distributed team
  • Reliable computer, internet access, and a record of productive remote work
  • Clean background check and three professional references

Additional Details

  • Schedule: Flexible, with some availability during business hours (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) for collaboration and communication
  • Communication: Timely response to emails (within 24 hours unless prearranged)
  • Compensation: $25–$40 per hour, based on experience and contracting rates
