The international movement to “green” and decarbonize the maritime industry is intensifying, and the Northwest Seaport Alliance is helping to lead the way. The NWSA’s Air Quality & Sustainable Practices (AQSP) Program seeks a dynamic new team member to help advance the vision of the award-winning Northwest Port Clean Air Strategy: to phase out air and climate pollution associated with seaport activities by 2050 or sooner.
This Project Manager II position will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to design, develop, and manage innovative, high-impact projects and programs aimed at reducing emissions from cargo operations in Seattle and Tacoma.
This is a fully benefited, limited duration position expected to last up to three (3) years.
Primary Functions:
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, environmental planning, resource management, air quality, public administration, or environmental engineering required.
Minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in positions requiring analytical ability, program, and policy implementation, working under environmental laws and programs and with environmental regulatory personnel, applying environmental science; public speaking, written communication, coordination, negotiation, and conflict resolution. An appropriate master’s degree may be substituted for up to two (2) years' work experience. Experience overseeing contract consultants is preferred.
