We are looking for a Senior On-Site Renewable Energy Program Manager to join Amazon’s Energy & Sustainable Operations team, positioned within the Worldwide Sustainability organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategy and executing programs that scale our on-site renewable energy program throughout Amazon’s facilities in Europe. You will provide governance for Amazon.com’s growing on-site renewable energy program by developing and establishing strategic guidance, standards, and guardrails, leveraging your subject matter expertise to scale the on-site program and support various teams executing projects across our facilities to achieve Amazon’s ambitious sustainability goals. You will be a trusted advisor and will work cross-functionally with internal business teams and stakeholders to bring on-site renewable energy across the finish line and explore new potential opportunities. This will include developing and owning program management mechanisms, building strategic partnerships inside Amazon as well as externally throughout the industry and outside the business, and working closely with our new technology investment vehicles and on-the-ground building teams. The candidate will help unlock avenues for scale and help Amazon internal teams focus on the most strategic priorities. We are looking for someone who brings passion and experience in the on-site solar and renewable energy industry alongside public policy exposure, razor sharp business skills, and financial and contractual acumen to deliver results in a fast-paced, technical and dynamic environment.


Key job responsibilities
As an On-Site Renewable Energy Program Manager you will be expected to:

  • Provide guidance and support to internal business teams to make material progress on on-site renewable energy against Amazon’s sustainability goals.
  • Create tools and mechanisms to surface, analyze and report out the necessary information for business teams and centralized leadership reporting on the on-site program.
  • Evaluate the market for all types of on-site renewable energy opportunities, established and innovative, and work with technology teams to unlock paths to scale across the business.
  • Explore, propose, and leverage public policy opportunities externally, in collaboration with internal Public Policy teams.
  • Support internal stakeholders develop and negotiate contract structures with external partners in collaboration with internal Legal, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Procurement and Tax teams.
  • Prepare written assessment of program progress, and assist in reporting for other teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in on-site solar and renewable energy transactions with suppliers and/or renewable energy developers
  • Familiarity with energy, public policy, and regulatory landscape affecting on-site solar and renewable energy in Europe
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex programs, drive adoption and positive results from cross-functional teams and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, great teammate, and willingness to have fun!
  • Basic knowledge of data collection and analysis methods

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Demonstrated experience with scaling programs in the energy industry
  • Extensive experience leading initiatives related to on-site solar and renewable energy generation, energy storage and sustainability projects in the energy industry
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with senior leadership, industry stakeholders, internal partners, and customers
  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with carbon data, environmental attribute programs, green tariffs, renewable energy development
