In alignment with this bold corporate goal, the Amazon Devices & Services organization is hiring an entry level Sustainability Engineer to conduct thorough assessments of the sustainability impacts of our Devices products from end to end, including manufacturing, transportation, consumer use, and end-of-life.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of life cycle assessments (LCAs) of products and services, and preferably detailed knowledge of manufacturing, design, development, and/or sourcing. The candidate should be comfortable working with imperfect data, identifying sources of uncertainty, and finding public data to fill the gaps where needed. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills and the ability to apply systems thinking to complex, fast moving problems. The candidate should have a solid background in data analysis or engineering, and is familiarity with LCA methods. The successful candidate will work under the direction of Sustainability Scientist and help conduct electronics LCAs, include gathering data, interpreting results, and developing metrics and reports. The candidate will coordinate with cross-functional project teams (across Hardware, Software, and Operations functions) in gathering and analyzing large amounts of data.
