Reporting to the Farms for a New Generation (FNG) Program Managers, the Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting FNG program operations, including coordinating logistics for FNG trainings, events and operations, shepherding MOUs, contracts, participant reimbursements and other obligations through AFT's administrative processes. The position also is responsible for copy editing, proofreading and preparing educational materials and resources, including funding reports and programmatic publications, managing a contacts data base, and assisting with the preparation of grant proposals and other fundraising materials.

What You'll Be Working On

As an integral member of the AFT Programs team, the FNG Program Coordinator provides operations support to FNG projects which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Shepherding MOUs, contracts, participant reimbursements and other obligations through AFT's administrative processes
  • Scheduling and maintaining calendars, travel arrangements and reimbursements
  • Filing, page layout and design for educational materials, and assistance with spreadsheets and Power Point presentations Assembling grant proposal and reporting submittals
  • Photocopying and printing
  • Mailings.
  • Providing logistical and other support for FNG trainings, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Coordinating logistics for FNG trainings, which occur in person and on-line, including registrations, meeting room rentals, catering, A/V, contracting with venues, and other support as needed.
  • Coordinating completion of FNG educational materials, including proof reading and copyediting, and preparing materials for workshops and conferences.
  • Data entry and management for contact lists and educational events.
  • Data entry to and management of learning management software and contacts lists.
  • Helping staff respond to public inquiries, processing requests for materials, compiling information packets for distribution and coordinating materials for conferences, meetings, workshops and fundraising visits.

The ideal candidate has excellent project and time management and organizational skills with demonstrated commitment to high quality professional work, and:

  • Previous experience with contract management.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, Learning Management Software, and Adobe Suite, especially Indesign and Illustrator.
  • Strong copy editing and proofreading skills; familiarity with Plain Language/English preferred.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders, the public, and AFT staff.
  • Must be a team player who is flexible and able to work independently with periodic supervision.
  • Collaborative, professional,?and innovative approach to project challenges as they arise
  • Outgoing personality and a sense of humor.
  • Experience with agriculture and a passion for the mission of American Farmland Trust.

Education & Experience

BA or BS with at least 5 years administrative experience in copy editing, preparing materials for print and on line publication, offering logistical support for webinars and on-line training, as well as travel and event planning.
