We have a current opening in our Mid-Atlantic office located in Washington, DC. 

Position Responsibilities
The engineer or scientist hired will provide support for a variety of interesting and innovative projects in LimnoTech’s service areas, possibly including:

  • Stormwater management and planning
  • Green infrastructure assessment and planning
  • Watershed, stream, lake, and related ecosystem restoration assessment and planning
  • Data processing, analysis, management, and visualization
  • Water quality modeling and watershed assessments
  • Hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) evaluations and modeling


Our scientists and engineers work closely with senior staff to develop sound approaches for addressing our clients’ problems.  Initial tasks are likely to include support of stormwater management permits and programs, development of plans to address Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements, water quality data management and analysis, modeling support, and assistance with field work. Responsibility and opportunities will be commensurate with experience and capability.

Required Qualifications
The following are required qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related scientific discipline from an accredited university program is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience is a plus.   
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. for any employer (proper documentation is required).


In addition, familiarity or experience with some of the following skills is desired, but not required:

  • Familiarity or experience with the topics mentioned under “position responsibilities”.
  • Training or experience in data management and GIS. Capabilities with R, Visual Basic, Python, or web development programming.
  • Training or experience in hydrologic, hydraulic, or water quality modeling.
  • Ability to do occasional field work.
