LimnoTech seeks an experienced professional to advance our practice in resiliency planning and sustainable community development. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in risk and resiliency planning, climate change adaptation strategy development, and disaster response and recovery planning. International experience is a plus. The candidate may support projects in multiple service areas where risk characterization, resiliency and sustainability planning is relevant, including our federal, municipal, and corporate water stewardship sectors. 

Position Responsibilities            



Provide oversight, leadership, and management of a portfolio of projects related to risk and resiliency planning, including:

  • Community resilience planning
  • Climate adaptation strategy development
  • Government advising on climate policy
  • Municipal client resiliency planning
  • Engineering with nature (EWN) planning and design
  • Environmental and social justice integration
  • Post-disaster recovery
  • Stakeholder engagement and coordination


Perform technical and strategic project work in the above and other areas.

Support business development in LimnoTech's growing risk and resiliency practice area

  • Identify leads and develop proposals, scopes, and budgets
  • Support vision for continued growth in practice area


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Design, Planning, Architecture or related discipline from an accredited university program is required. A cross-disciplinary degree with added focus in liberal arts, business and/or sustainability would be valuable.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in consulting, design, corporate or research fields.
  • Project management experience
  • Proposal development experience
  • Strong technical skills in assessment and planning of Nature-Based Solutions and Natural and Nature-Based Features.
  • Technical familiarity with climate change adaptation and resiliency planning.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and community development.
  • Ability to integrate planning elements such as social justice, housing, transportation, green infrastructure, sustainability, and resiliency into plans and designs.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal, written), effective at synthesis and communication of technical information to a broad audience.
  • Interest in business development and an established network of professional contacts in resiliency planning.
