The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Product Stewardship Counsel, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Advising, assessing, coordinating, investigating and training internal clients on compliance with Product Stewardship (PS)-related laws and regulations, e.g., Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (a.k.a., Prop 65), California Consumer Product Regulation, and similar regional, federal, state and local requirements associated with product life cycle regulation
  • Assisting with the implementation of risk assessments, standard operating procedures, monitoring, auditing, and other related PS compliance controls
  • Formulating, aligning and executing corporate strategies with PS regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining active involvement in development and deployment throughout the 3M structure of effective communication, training and compliance programs that meet 3M’s high standards.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited law school and member of a United States bar in good standing
  • Five (5) years in product stewardship law in a private, public, non-profit, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Engineering or technical degree;
  • Experience working in or with industry, particularly manufacturing;
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs;
  • Strong academic background;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to operate in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent writing ability.

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location
