Vegetation Control Technician

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Vegetation Control Technician to our passionate team of utility vegetation management professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

What You’ll Do:  

• Maintain standard levels of vegetation in the surrounding area around utility poles by: 

• Applying herbicides to control weeds and grasses around utility poles 

• Using equipment to maintain appropriate levels of weeds and brush 

• Following contracts for work conditions and job specifications 

• Collect data to monitor and manage levels of invasive species of vegetation.  

• Properly maintain, calibrate, and operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

What We’re Seeking: 

• Love of the outdoors  

• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related work 

• Ability to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA Training 

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire    

• Preferred: Valid driver’s license with Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement  

• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law  

• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist ®, ISA Certified Tree Worker ®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional ®  

Pre-employment Drug Screen and Social Security verification required.
