Mechanic / Supervisor -Florida

The Davey Tree Expert Co. is looking for energetic individuals that enjoying working in a team

environment supporting vehicles in turf and horticulture industry. The Mechanic/ Supervisor position provides basic

maintenance, diagnostics and repairs for our fleet of over 50 passenger, diesel trucks and heavy equipment: Stump Grinders, wood processing/chippers

Aerial lift Vehicles/Bucket trucks, Trailers, and Pumb Sprayer equipment.

• DUTIES:     
•  Diagnoses of vehicles and equipment mechanical and electrical issues
•  Perform mechanical work on diesel and gasoline engines, oil changes, adjusting brakes, ignition systems, etc.
•  Perform DOT inspections on all fleet vehicles and trailers
•  Respond to calls in the field for emergency repair of vehicles
•  Submit necessary paperwork to corporate office related to DOT reporting and fleet repairs
•  Assist staff with trouble shooting small engine repairs on equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  A two year degree in diesel mechanics, automobile mechanics or related field
•  One year of experience in a similar position.
•  Valid Class “A” driver’s license, Tanker endorsement a plus
•  ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification for Automobiles or Trucks desired
•      Current and past experience working with Hydraulics
•      Ability to repair and weld equipment associated to wood prossessing/Chippers-trailers.
•  Positive attitude
•  Problem solving skills
•  Able to lift and carry 50 lbs
•      Ability to work second shift
•      Excellent work environment/facility
