Employee Engagement Specialist

What You'll Work On

Are you a creative thinker? Do you enjoy building and cultivating strong relationships while developing innovative solutions?  We’re looking for an Employee Experience Specialist, in the Commercial Landscaping Services division of The Davey Tree Expert Company to:

  • Increase job satisfaction and retention of our full-time hires
  • Develop a program engagement strategy ensuring a positive experience for new employees
  • Utilize existing programs, including orientation, safety, and skills-based training to enrich the engagement strategy
  • Build relationships with new employees to encourage open feedback sharing, provision of coaching and support, and connection with the Company
  • Curate and build a culture within cohorts of new employees
  • Develop initiatives and methods to drive, enhance, and measure engagement within the cohort
  • Promote Manager engagement and build strong partnerships with Manager population
  • Manage feedback survey creation and distribution, data analysis and creation/delivery of action plans for required adaptations
  • Organize and facilitate mentoring program for designated region

What We Look For

  • Prior experience in Human Resources – advantageous to have experience in one or more of; recruitment, learning & development, talent management, employee relations, HR business partner
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate and resonate with colleagues
  • Innovative and solutions-driven mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail; robust organizational skills including strong scheduling and coordination competencies
  • Solid reporting and analytical skills with the ability to articulate and analyze feedback

  • Happy to travel domestically as needed (~20%)



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience required; 2+ years of related experience
  • Preferred experience in landscaping or the broader green industry
  • Preferred bi-lingual communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, ability to efficiently utilize MS Office Suite of Applications
